Simboliza a Presença de Deus que Ahab (Acab) - a presença do Mal - quer negar/destruir para que assim seja restabelecido o reino do Mal ou das Trevas. Deus é Luz. Ormudz é princípio do bem e Arhiman princípio do Mal, quando Ahura Mazda hesitou/vacilou Arhiman pulou na frente e conquistou o reino , não sei por quantos mil anos ... depois seria de Ormudz. A influência do Avesta não termina aí: Fedahlah o Arpoador persa é o representante do Avesta como sendo a presença do Mal materializada.

Outra opção seria Yima"

"Ahura Mazda encarrega Yima de ser o portador de uma “Revelação”, porém este se considera incapaz e aceita somente engendrar criaturas e governá-las com equidade. Compromete-se perante Ahura, “a proteger o mundo, alimentar e velar por ele”, mas não para ensinar, meditar e proclamar a Lei. Recebe de Deus os instrumentos mágicos, uma lança e um anel de ouro."

A lança é o arpão, o anel de ouro é o dobrão (capítulo 99 The Doubloon)

Tem também a figura de Fedallah:

"The leader of the "five dusky phantoms," whom Ahab has secretly brought aboard to serve as his private boat crew, is the mysterious Fedallah, who serves as the captain's harpooner. An ancient Asian, he is reported to be a Parsee — a member of a religious sect descended from the Persians and devoted to the teachings of the prophet Zoroaster in the sixth century B.C., contrasting the spirits of light or good (Ormazd) with the spirits of darkness or evil (Ahriman). Here, the significance is that Fedallah is a man of mystery, a non-Christian who seems to be Ahab's guide or guru. Some critics suggest that, because Fedallah is a Parsee and supposedly devoted to good, he is a double agent, an assassin sent by God to eliminate Ahab. (If one considers that the Parsees were "devoted to "doing God's work" as opposed to "devoted to good," it is possible that Fedallah is doing both. Given Ahab's perspective of God and the universe, this interpretation of Fedallah and his role is valid.)

Moby Dick liquida Ahab e toda sua tripulação inclusive aquele que Ahab depositava todas suas apostas: Fedallah. Ou seja, a Presença de Deus se mostrou superior não só a presença do Mal como também sua materialização como princípio do Mal.

Melville não soube dar um destino a Moby Dick porque ele também não conseguiu derrotar o Deus que tanto procurava...
